Orientation mode tutorial
Overview
The orientation functionality of the Viva app allows you to customize the app’s display orientation to either portrait or landscape mode. This feature is particularly beneficial for optimizing the user experience based on the type of payment terminal you are using.
How to change the orientation mode of the Viva App
1.- Go to Settings in the Viva app.
2.- Select “App Orientation” from the menu.
3.- Choose your preferred layout: Portrait or Landscape.

4.- The app orientation will update immediately after selecting your desired option.
You can also configure the orientation mode through the POS Activation Request as part of the app-to-app integration (appOrientation parameter). This allows you to define the desired orientation programmatically when activating the terminal. For detailed instructions, refer to the documentation here.
Changing the app orientation must be done through the Viva app settings, as it operates independently of the device’s orientation settings.
