Card Terminal - System Reversal

A system reversal is created when during a transaction the card terminal has failed to connect with the host server or for other reasons. The reasons of why a transaction can fail are depicted in the 2nd column.
The merchant gets a message of a failed transaction. In case we are asked if the transaction was successful, we advise our customers that since there was a Failed transaction message, then the transaction did not succeed.



The failed transaction data is stored in the card terminal’s memory. In order not to charge the card holder for the transaction that failed, the system reversal is sent under specific circumstances and the transaction is canceled. The circumstances under which the system Reversal is sent to Host, are shown below.

Even though the system reversal is not visible in the terminal’s journal, in CRM we can view it when filtering with the Systemic filter (as shown below). This filter should be used only when investigating System Reversals and not other transaction issues (in that case the No radio button should be selected).
