Installing and Configuring the Viva.com Smart Checkout Plugin for Shopware 6
Plugin download and installation
Step 1: Download the Plugin from the Shopware Store
- Go to the Shopware Store.
- Log in with your Shopware account.
- Find the Viva.com Smart Checkout plugin and add it to your account.
- Go to your Shopware 6 administration panel.
- Navigate to Extensions > My Extensions.
- Click Shopware Account (top right) and make sure your shop is connected to your Shopware account.
- Once connected, your purchased/downloaded plugin will be listed under My Extensions > Shopware Account.
Step 2: Install the Plugin
- Locate the plugin in the list.
- Click the “…” menu next to the plugin name.
- Select Install from the dropdown.
Step 3: Activate the Plugin
- After installation, click the “…” again.
- Select Activate.
- Toggle the switch to the ON position to activate the plugin.
Plugin configuration
After successfully installing and activating the plugin, follow these steps to configure it:
(1) Access the plugin settings:
- Navigate to the Settings page in your Shopware admin interface.
- Select the Extensions tab and click on the Viva.com Smart Checkout plugin entry.
(2) Complete the configuration form:
- A configuration form will appear. Use the Demo Mode toggle to select the correct environment (e.g., demo or production).
- Enter the required credentials and click the Validate Credentials button, you can find your credentials in your Viva Dashboard
(Settings->Api Access->Shopware Smart Checkout Credentials).- On successful validation, a source code will be generated or fetched, and a success notification will appear.
- If validation fails (e.g., due to incorrect credentials or connectivity issues), an error notification will be displayed.
(3) Save the configuration:
- Click the Save button to save the configuration.
- During this process, webhooks for the specific domain will be created in your Viva Dashboard: Transaction Payment Created and Transaction Failed.

- A success notification will confirm completion.
(4) Refresh the page:
- After saving, refresh the page. A new field displaying the source code will appear below the Client Secret input field.
Activating the payment method
(1) Enable the payment method: - Go to the Payment Methods page in the Shop submenu under Settings. - Activate the Viva.com Smart Checkout payment method.
(2) Assign the payment method to a sales channel: - From the Extensions menu, select Viva.com Smart Checkout - Locate the Sales Channel Switch section. - Select your desired sales channel and configure the plugin as you did in Step 2 “Complete the configuration form” (reference link to step 2 within “Plugin configuration” section)
Customize the colour of the Smart Checkout
You can customize the color to match your brand’s theme. To do so, go to Settings → Extensions → Viva.com Smart Checkout → Brand color and select your preferred color.
