Introduction
MobilePay Online is a Smart Checkout payment method which allows customers to complete payments using their MobilePay phone app.
Some of the main benefits of offering MobilePay Online as a payment method are:
- Flexibility: By eliminating the need for customers to carry bank cards, MobilePay provides convenience and flexibility. Studies have shown that businesses offering mobile payment options experience an average increase of 15% in sales due to the convenience factor and expanded payment options
- Popularity: MobilePay is highly popular in Denmark and Finland, with a combined user base of over 6 million users. By integrating MobilePay, you can tap into this large user base, potentially increasing your customer reach and expanding your market share
- Speed: MobilePay significantly speeds up the checkout process, resulting in higher conversion rates. Businesses that have implemented MobilePay have reported up to a 20% increase in conversion rates, as customers can complete transactions swiftly, reducing cart abandonment and improving overall sales
- Security: With MobilePay, customers confirm every payment within their banking app, providing an additional layer of security. This secure authentication process has resulted in a fraud rate of less than 0.01%, ensuring peace of mind for both customers and merchants
- Increased customer satisfaction: Offering MobilePay as a payment method can result in higher customer satisfaction rates. Studies have indicated that businesses that provide mobile payment options experience a 92% customer satisfaction rate, leading to improved customer loyalty and positive brand perception

1 It is important to ensure - as the merchant - that you verify the payment’s status explicitly, rather than relying on a browser/session object:
- We recommend utilising our Transaction Payment Created & Transaction failed webhooks for this
- Alternatively (or in addition), you can use our Retrieve Transaction API call
