Overview
Store and Forward (SaF) - also referred to as Offline Payments – functionality is designed for business scenarios where network connectivity may be unstable or temporarily unavailable. SaF allows merchants to continue processing POS transactions under the following conditions:
- The merchant’s network connection is down at the moment the card is presented by the customer.
- The card terminal has lost connectivity with Viva’s host
- Viva’s host cannot communicate with the card schemes due to service downtime

- “rrn”
- “transactionId”
Please take this into account when developing your integration.
BIN codes exclusion
To help prevent chargebacks and reduce risk, Viva excludes certain Mastercard Debit cards from being used in offline mode. These cards, identified by specific BINs, have been flagged by Mastercard because they require online authorization at all times due to their zero stand-in and X-code limits. As a result, any transaction with these BINs must be processed online and cannot be completed while the terminal is offline.
The following BINs are currently excluded:
- 516768
- 535219
- 535287
- 555616
- 557442
- 557543
